About Ritchie Hill Bakery

In the South, cheese straws are a time-honored family tradition.

Ritchie Hill Bakery was founded in 2010 by brother and sister Heath Ritchie and Beth Alm. Their secret family cheese straw recipe has been passed down for generations. From their grandmother, who baked her 1st batch in the “Ritchie Hill” family home in Concord, to their father Lee who carried on the tradition for family & friends. When Heath inherited the recipe years later, he found he couldn’t bake enough to satisfy demand. Out of necessity, our bakery was born.

Today in our bakery in the historic Old Creamery building in Concord, NC, our Southern snacks are still prepared in small batches from our original family recipes. The only difference: we now have enough to share.

As far as cheese Strauss go, absolutely delicious! The spicy has just enough spice, but doesn’t really stack on top of each other and the plane is delicious with a sharp cheddar flavor. The gentleman inside who is making them was really kind and told us lots about the history of the company the product and we bought several. Our kids also really enjoyed the almond spritz cookies!

Carolyn Ritchie and her team always provide exceptional customer service! I’ve made numerous special requests when I place orders for myself and family members and she/they are always very accommodating. Great product and great service. A first class operation!

The only cheese straw I’ll ever need! Crisp like the best pie crust, but cheese. What more could you want? Also surprised by how good the Spritz cookies are! Sweet and crisp little cookies!

I saw these as I was leaving a shop in Cherokee NC, I love cheese straws.....IF THEY ARE GOOD. Well I bought a pack of these to take home. Wehave already finished them. These are great. I definitely will be ordering some from the company!!!

When I first ordered the cheese straws several years ago after seeing their ad in Our State Magazine, I could not eat any other. I order for me personally during the year . For the last couple years I have sent them my Christmas orders and they are filled promptly and shipped when I request them. The cheese straws are wonderful and I look forward to continuing to place my orders.
